Directions

Step 1: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.

Step 2: In a large skillet (12-inch works best), melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until just pink and opaque. Transfer shrimp to a plate and set aside.

Step 3: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- 4
Step 4: Add the orzo to the skillet and stir to coat in the garlic butter. Toast for 1 minute, stirring frequently.

Step 5: Pour in the chicken broth, water, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 12-14 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. If it looks too dry before done, add a splash more broth or water.

Step 6: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, along with any accumulated juices. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and most of the parsley. Cook for another minute until everything is heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve immediately, garnished with remaining parsley and extra lemon wedges.
