Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name and email address when you create an account or contact us. We also automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns to improve our service. We use this information solely to provide and enhance the DishIndex experience.

AI Service Providers and Transfers Outside the EU
Our AI features rely on two service providers acting as processors on our behalf. DeepSeek (Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd., China) processes the text you submit to recipe generation and recipe import, the context used for personalized suggestions (the titles of your favorite recipes and your recent searches), your recipe preferences (diet, calorie and protein targets, excluded ingredients), the free text you type (ingredients, import notes), and recipe descriptions to translate. This data is sent without account identifiers (name, email, ID) and without your IP address. Do not include personal information in free-text fields. fal.ai (Features & Labels, Inc., United States) processes the photos you submit to the fridge scan, analyzed by Google's Gemini model through fal.ai, and generates recipe images. These providers are located outside the European Union, in countries that may not offer a level of data protection equivalent to the GDPR; using these features therefore involves a transfer of the submitted data outside the EU. We only send what each feature needs, never your password or payment details, and DishIndex does not keep your fridge photos. Please avoid including personal information (faces, documents) in photos or text you submit. You can use DishIndex without these features.
