Krispy Kreme Donut
Hey there, fellow foodies! Today, I'm sharing my beloved Krispy Kreme Donut recipe with you. Trust me, once you taste these light, fluffy delights, you'll be hooked for life! So, let's get started with dissolving the yeast in warm water. Fun fact: one time, I accidentally used hot water instead of warm water and ended up with super cranky yeast. Remember, yeast is like Goldilocks - it needs the water to be just right! Here's a pro tip for you: when cutting out the doughnuts, make sure to flour your cutter generously. This will prevent the dough from sticking and give you those perfect, round shapes every time. And now, the frying part - the most exciting (and slightly nerve-wracking) step! Be sure to turn the doughnuts as they rise to the surface like little edible submarines. It's like a delicious deep-sea adventure in your kitchen! Once you dip these beauties in the creamy glaze, let them cool on a rack. And voilà, you've got yourself a batch of homemade Krispy Kreme Donuts that will rival the original. Enjoy every bite of these melt-in-your-mouth treats!

Directions

Dissolve yeast in warm water in 2 1/2-quart bowl. Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 cups flour. Beat on low for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in remaining flour until smooth. Cover and let rise until double, 50-60 minutes. (Dough is ready when indentation remains when touched.) Turn dough onto floured surface; roll around lightly to coat with flour. Gently roll dough 1/2-inch thick with floured rolling pin. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Cover and let rise until double, 30-40 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in deep fryer to 350°. Slide doughnuts into hot oil with wide spatula. Turn doughnuts as they rise to the surface. Fry until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side. Remove carefully from oil (do not prick surface); drain. Dip the doughnuts into creamy glaze set on rack.
